Sealed Bids for the Oak Bluffs Harbor North & South Jetties Improvement project shall be received until AUGUST 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM (local time), at the Town Administrator’s Office (see address above). The Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud.

A non-mandatory Pre-bid Conference/Site Inspection will be held on AUGUST 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Town Hall (see address above).

The project generally consists of the rehabilitation of the North (230’) and South (310’) Jetties of Oak Bluffs Harbor. Each of the entrance channel jetties extend from the harbor limit at the shoreline eastward into Nantucket Sound. The proposed work will include removal and disposal of the existing stone jetties and the construction of a concrete foundation at the end of the North Jetty for a U.S. Coast Guard installed Aid to Navigation Light Tower.

The estimated project cost is $5 million.

Liquidated damages of $500.00 per day will be assessed if the work has not been completed in accordance with the provisions of the Contract within the time specified (as extended by any authorized extension of time granted in accordance with the Contract provisions).

Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid deposit, in the form of a Bid Bond, cash, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Oak Bluffs in the amount of 5% of the Bid.

Bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Ch. 30, Sect. 39F, G, H and M inclusive.   Wages are subject to minimum wage rates as per M.G.L. Ch. 149, sections 26 to 27D inclusive.  The Town of Oak Bluffs reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any and all Bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
