An endorsed “Proposal” for constructing Brookfield Sidewalk Project, Brookfield, Missouri, will be received by the
City until 11:00 am (prevailing local time) on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 , and at that time will be publicly opened
and read.
The proposed work includes:
The construction of ADA compliant sidewalk along the north side of Business Highway 36 (Helm Street) from
Brookfield High School to Stanbury Industrial Drive. This work includes a pedestrian crossing on Pershing Drive to
the YMCA property and a pedestrian crossing on Helm Street to Stanbury Industrial Drive.
Federal and state wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth
in the bid proposal.
The prime contractor must be on MoDOT’s approved contractor listing. This requirement includes that the contractor
has submitted to MoDOT a Contractor Questionnaire and/or Contractor Prequalification Questionnaire with
attachments not later than seven (7) days prior to the date and hour of the bid opening (see Section 102.2 of the
Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction for more details). The prime contractor must perform,
with its own organization, work amounting to not less than 30% of the total original contract price.
A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled at 2:00 pm on March 22, 2024 , at City Hall, Brookfield, MO. Pre-Bid Meeting
attendance is not mandatory.
The City of Brookfield hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into
pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantage
individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated
against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an
award, a DBE goal of 6% has been established for this project. Only the work performed by DBE subcontractors that
appear on MoDOT’s approved listing at the time of bid opening will be applied towards calculating the DBE goal.
Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works projects must provide a 10-Hour OSHA
construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be
completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.

A certified or cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid amount shall be submitted with each
proposal. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids by the City with MoDOT concurrence.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.
