The scope includes updated pedestrian and vehicle improvements on Oak Street and Market Street between Embarcadero West and 3rd Street, as well as a new, separated two-way bicycle track on Oak Street between Embarcadero West and 3rd Street, and on Embarcadero West between Oak Street and Alice Street. The project also aims to create a new overweight vehicle route (OVR) through the industrial Port of Oakland area, between Market Street and Adeline/Middle Harbor Road. The OVR will re-route overweight trucks away from the currently-used route that travels through the historically disadvantaged West Oakland neighborhood.
