The Leavenworth County Noxious Weed Department is accepting bids on the attached chemicals.
Conditions and specifications are attached. Please submit sealed bid proposals to the below address. The
envelope must be clearly marked “Chemical Bid”.

All bids must be received no later than Thursday, March 05, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., at which time they will be
opened and read aloud.
To obtain a copy of the bid notice they will be posted on the Leavenworth County website:
www.leavenworthcounty.gov or you may come to the Noxious Weed office located at, 23674 187th St.,
Leavenworth, KS 66048 and pick up a copy. Questions regarding the bid specifications should be

a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Leavenworth County Board of Commissioners has the right to refuse any and all bids and accept the
best bid they feel is in the best interest of Leavenworth County.

Phenoxy Herbicide Specifications
Scope: The following herbicide will be utilized by the Leavenworth County Noxious
Weed Department. The following specifications are to be considered as minimum
requirements.
Special Requirements: The Kansas State Board of Agriculture for use in Kansas must
approve all material. All materials shall be supplied in the size containers and
concentration specified. Each container must have an approved label stating
manufacturer, active ingredients, restrictions, precautions and contents and all special
labeling required by the Kansas State Board of Agriculture. All materials must be
guaranteed to give satisfactory results in controlling plant species listed on label.
2,4-D Low Volatile Ester: Shall consist of butoxethyl ester, butoxethanol ester or
isoocytyl ester of 2,4-Dichorophenoxyacetic acids. It shall have 5.6 pounds of active acid
equivalent per gallon and contain sufficient suitable emulsifying or sequestering agents to
keep the product uniformly dispersed when diluted with water. All 2,4-D must be labeled
for the post emergent control of musk thistle at the rate of 1 ½ to 2 pounds per acre.
2,4-D Amine: Shall consist of akanolamine salts, dimethyl salts, or diethanolamine salts
of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acids. It shall have a 3.8 to 4 pounds of active acid
equivalent per gallon and contain sufficient suitable emulsifying or sequestering agents to
keep the product uniformly dispersed when diluted in water. All 2,4-D must be labeled
for the post emergent of musk thistles at the rate of 1 ½ to 2 pounds per acre and fields
bindweed at the rate of 1 to 2 pounds per acre.
Picloram: Shall consist of 4-amino-3, 5,6-trichloropicolinic acid and potassium salt. It
shall have a 24.4% or 2 pounds if active acid equivalent per gallon and contain sufficient
agents to keep the product uniformly dispensed when diluted with water.
Triclopyr: shall consist of triclopy; 3,5.6-trichloro-2-pyridinyloxyacetic acid and
butoxyethyl ester. It shall have a 60.45% of active acid equivalent per gallon and contain
sufficient emulsifying or sequestering agents to keep the product uniformly dispensed
and diluted with the water.
Plateau: Shall consist of ammonium salt od imazapic (+-) -2-[4,5-dihydro-4-methyl-4-
(1-methylethyl)-5oxo-1imidazol-2-yl]-5-methyl-3-pyyridinecarboxylic acid. It shall have
23.6% active acid per gallon and contain sufficient emulsifying or sequestering agents to
keep the product uniformly dispensed when diluted with water.
Glyphosate: Shall consist of N- (phosphonmethyl) glycine, in the form of its
isoprpylamine salt. It shall have at least 41.0% active acid equivalent per gallon and
contain sufficient emulsifying or sequestering agents to keep the product uniformly
dispensed and diluted with water.
TerraVue: Shall consist of dry flow able 2-pyridinecarboxylic acid,4-amino-3,6-
dichloro-potassium salt---------71.01%
Florpyrauxifen-benzyl:2-pyridinecarboxylic acid,4-amino-3-chloro-6-
(4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxy-phenyl)-5-fluoro-,phenyl methyl ester----6.00%
PastureGuard: Shall consist of triclopr: 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinyloxacetic acid,
butoxyethyl ester and fluroxypyr: [(4-amino-3, 5-dichloro-6-fluropyridin-2-yl) oxy]
acetic acid, 1-methylheptyl ester. It shall have a total of 33.6 % active ingredient per
gallon and contain sufficient emulsifying or sequestering agents to keep the product
uniformly dispensed when diluted in water.
OutRider: Shall consist of dry flowable granule containing Sulfosulfuron 75% and
25% other Ingredients:
Control: All liquid materials will be subject to laboratory and field testing if they fail to
meet standards by settling out, mixing poorly, or plugging nozzles due to lack of proper
emulsifying agent or contaminate. Defective materials will be returned at the expense of
the suppliers.
