Notification of Single Source to VSGI SolutionZ Inc.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)has determined it necessary to replace the current Maintenance Display Unit (MDU) with the Airport Surveillance Radar 9 (ASR-9) Sustainment 3 Project: MDR due to obsolescence and limited supportability. The MDR requires a custom Mobile Cart to support the monitor and house the various sub-systems. This procurement will support a field wide replacement effort to remove obsolete and non-supportable parts from the field via an SSM release.

The FAA Intends to single source to VSGI SolutionZ Inc. for COTS RPS-800-CUSTOM-1462 Mobile carts, and casters with brakes (AVTEQ HDC-6) which are responsible for processing video signals from the ASR-9 system.

In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. ADB Safegate is the only approved manufacturer for this baselined system. The control equipment is designed to interface with the existing installed lighting systems.

The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 493190, Other Warehousing and Storage, with a Small Business Size Standard of $37 million.
