Notice to Contractors - 2026 Waterline Improvements

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

HAYS, KANSAS
Sealed bids, subject to the conditions contained herein, will be received by the City of Hays, Kansas, at
1507 Main Street at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, until 3:00 PM, April 28th, 2026 for the
construction of the 2026 Waterline Improvements, COH Project No. 2026-01. This project consists of
1449 feet of 8" waterline along 23rd Street from Lincoln Draw to Fort Street, as well as, concrete
pavement replacement along the waterline in the amount of 2,032 SY. In addition, this project includes
the replacement of 1 existing fire hydrant setting at the intersection of Plum Street & 23rd Street.
At said time and place, and promptly thereafter, all Proposals that have been duly received will be
publicly opened and read aloud.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's check, a certified check or a bid bond, payable to the City
of Hays, Kansas, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.
The bidder to whom a contract is awarded in excess of $100,000.00 will be required to furnish a
Contract Bond and Payment Bond executed on the specific forms and acceptable to the City of Hays,
Kansas, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount Bid.
Contract Documents are on file and may be examined at the Public Works Department, 1002 Vine
Street, Hays, KS 67601 (PH# 785-628-7310).
Contract Documents may be obtained by emailing Kord Albers, IE with the Driggs Design Group, PA at
kalbers@driggsdesign.com for a deposit of $100.00 (One Hundred Dollars) made payable to the Driggs
Design Group, PA. There will be no refund of the deposit. The contract documents become the property
of the prospective bidder and are not returnable.
City of Hays reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids/proposals, to waive any irregularities
in such bids/proposals, and to accept such bids/proposals that are the most responsive and best suits the
City of Hays.
No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 (sixty) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the
written consent of the City of Hays, Kansas.
