NOTICE OF TIMBER SALE

The Marquette County Forestry Commission is requesting bids for the purchase of the following stumpage:

Timber Sale: 1-25 Sale Area: ~177 acres

• Harvest Unit 1 (~141 acres) Marquette County, Forsyth Township Sections 4 & 9, T45N, R25W. Cut all stems between 5" and 20" DBH. Do not harvest ANY hemlock, cedar, yellow birch, or trees greater than 20" DBH. Some steep/ rocky areas may be inoperable and unharvestable.
• Harvest Unit 2 (~29 acres) Marquette County, Forsyth Township, Section 14 T45N, R25W - Cut all stems greater than 2" DBH except for red pine or white pine.
• Harvest Unit 3 (~7 acres) Marquette County, Forsyth Township, Section 11, T45N, R25W – Cut all stems greater than 2” DBH except for red or white pine.

Instructions to Bidders:
Bidders must respond using the bid form contained in the bid package. This timber will be sold by lump sum bid. Name and address of the firm or individual submitting the bid must be indicated. The bids shall be mailed/delivered in sealed envelopes marked “1-25 Timber Sale” to the Resource Management/ Development Department, Marquette County Courthouse, 234 West Baraga Avenue, Marquette, Michigan 49855. OR, bids shall be submitted electronically to astephens@mqtco.org .

Bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Bids will be opened by the Marquette County Forestry Commission at their regularly scheduled meeting at 4pm on August 6, 2025. Marquette County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
