The Portland District has the responsibility under Federal law to preserve for future use certain collections of archeological artifacts, specimens, and associated records. The Portland District requires curatorial services from a Contractor located in the State of Washington to carry out this responsibility. The Contractor shall be able to provide for the professional care and management of the collection and property held in trust and perform all work necessary to protect the collection in accordance with the regulation 36 CFR part 79 for the Curation of Federally-Owned and Administered Archeological Collections. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. Interested concerns must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement to the contracting officer before the notice end date. If no affirmative written responses are received, a solicitation and award will be made without further notice. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
