Summary
Description of Intended Products or Services Provided:
Purchase of Hoffman, Lamson, and Invincible Centrifugal Blowers, factory parts, spare parts, and factory service and support is only provided by Gardner Denver Nash. The preventative maintenance service program along with the products and services are critical to the equipment that supports the wastewater treatment process allowing plant operations to maintain operating permits and State and Federal codes, regulations, standards, and policies.
The Gardner Denver Nash aeration blower equipment has been installed within the Utility System upon construction of the plant. The existing Gardner Denver Nash aeration blower units are proven systems that consistently meets our operational needs and permit requirements. With the systems being already installed, it is in the best interest of the County to continue to use these products since they are working to meet the regulations.
Centrifugal blowers in the wastewater treatment plants provide high-volume, continuous airflow for aeration, which is critical for supplying oxygen to microorganisms that break down organic waste. They are essential for maintaining activated sludge, mixing equalization (EQ) basins, scouring membranes, and odor control. These blowers operate efficiently at high flow rates to support biological treatment processes. Centrifugal blowers deliver oxygen to activated sludge basins, allowing bacteria to oxidize organic contaminants and ammonia. They keep wastewater and microorganisms (sludge) suspended in tanks, ensuring thorough mixing for effective treatment. They provide air to clean membrane surfaces in MBR systems, preventing fouling. They assist with aeration in grit chambers and, in some cases, provide air to odor-control scrubbers. They power airlift pumps to move raw sewage, sludge, or wastewater within the treatment plant.
