Notice of intent to restrict competition for repairs to Drift Collection Barge

The New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to solicit a fixed price contract for barge repairs, which will be restricted to shipyards within 150 nautical mile radius from Caven Point Marine Terminal, Jersey City, New Jersey. The vessel is not capable of leaving the NY Harbor vicinity and needs to be limited in distance it can travel.

The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, fittings, equipment, tools, power, heat, water, etc., and performing all work on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Drift Collection Barge specified herein. The principal dimensions and physical data for the vessel are shown below:

The work scope includes drydocking the barge, cleaning and painting the hull, cleaning and painting the tanks, and miscellaneous modifications and repairs in accordance with these specifications.

This is not a formal solicitation or request for proposal. This notice of intent is to give notice of the Government's intent to solicit this work under Other Than Full and Open Competition.

Any vendor wishing to propose an alternative source must provide a copy of all relevant data demonstrating the alternative source satisfies the above requirements, by the required due date and time, to Matthew Lubiak at: matthew.e.lubiak@usace.army.mil .
