NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE

The 502d Contracting Squadron, US Air Force, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) – Randolph is formally announcing the intent to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract (on a sole source basis) to Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. (UEI DLPTJJFY1JD5), 1799 Innovation Point, Fort Mill, SC, 29715-4556. Requirement is two (2) each of Sunbelt PRIMAX Pump trailer-mounted 3x3x13 pump package powered by Deutz diesel engine, Model HH80 Deutz TD2.9 Diesel Trailer Open Units in support of Executive Order (EO) 13865, Coordinating National Resilience to Electromagnetic Pulses. Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) is building a rapid response plan to ensure military operations continue at JBSA Lackland’s Petroleum, Oil & Lubricant (POL) facility in a post-electromagnetic pulse event.

The Contracting Office has determined that it is in the Government’s best interest for this to be a sole source acquisition. This acquisition is a new requirement, and the Air Force intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1).

This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals.
