- This is a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) issued for market research purposes only. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a guarantee of a future solicitation. Seeking information from industry to identify potential sources capable of providing a proprietary vehicle exhaust removal system for its fire station, similar to systems manufactured by Plymovent. The WVA Fire Station requires a vehicle exhaust removal system that effectively captures and removes diesel exhaust emissions from fire trucks and other large vehicles housed within the facility. The system must meet specific requirements related to airflow, hose connections, safety features, and compatibility with existing infrastructure. Watervliet Arsenal (WVA) Fire Station proprietary vehicle exhaust system for the Fire Engines is Plymovent which allows the station to achieve full functionality and compliance with applicable Codes and Standards. The requirement is to provide the building with equipment will be compatible with the Fire Engine’s existing infrastructure & proprietary design already installed on the existing fire vehicles. The proposed vehicle exhaust system is linked to the brake pedal of each fire engine that is housed at the fire station. When the brake pedal is pressed, likely to start the vehicle indoors, the switch on the brake pedal automatically starts the vehicle exhaust fan. This purpose of this fan is to extract the exhaust fumes directly from the tailpipe of the vehicle, preventing toxic fumes from entering the apparatus bay. If not compatible, the existing vehicles will need to have the switches removed and replaced with the alternate manufacturer’s hardware to ensure compatibility with the new system.
