Overview

Summary

The description of services intended for purchase from a Single Source is posted in accordance with section 287.057(3)(c), Florida Statutes and will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days.

This is a Notice for a Sole Source Source designation for Clay County Board of County Commissioners.

Commodity or Service Required:

Purchase of Genesis Rescue Systems extrication equipment, including hydraulic/battery-powered spreaders, cutters, rams, associated accessories, batteries, and charging equipment for Clay County Fire Rescue apparatus.

Justification for Single/Sole Source Acquisition:

Clay County Fire Rescue has determined that Genesis Rescue Systems extrication equipment best meets the operational requirements of the department’s rescue operations. Genesis hydraulic and battery-powered extrication tools provide reliable cutting, spreading, and lifting capabilities designed specifically for emergency vehicle extrication and technical rescue environments. These tools offer high performance, durability, and ergonomic design that allow firefighters to operate efficiently and safely during high-stress rescue incidents.

Genesis Rescue Systems equipment has been selected as the department’s primary extrication platform and is currently utilized on frontline apparatus throughout the fleet. Standardizing this equipment supports operational consistency, simplifies training and maintenance, ensures interoperability of batteries and components between units, and reduces delays during multi-unit emergency responses.

Recommended Procurement Approach:

For the reason stated above, Clay County Purchasing Department intends to utilize the Sole Source Procurement method to contract with Rescue Systems Unlimited, LLC. for supplying the above.

Background

To our knowledge, Rescue Systems Unlimited, LLC is currently the only supplier available that provides Genesis Rescue Systems extrication equipment.
