NOTICE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE NEW LANDFILL DOZER
FOR THE CITY OF WATERTOWN SANITATION DEPARTMENT
Sealed bids will be received at the City Finance Office, 20 N Maple, P.O. Box 910,
Watertown, South Dakota 57201 up to 3:00 PM on 06 / 30 / 2026, for the furnishing of
the following item for the City of Watertown, South Dakota, Sanitation Department:
One New Landfill Dozer
At the time named above, such bid will be opened publicly and will be referred to the
Superintendent of Wastewater and Solid Waste for tabulation and review. The City
Council will meet in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 20 N Maple, in said City
to pass upon the same at a later date.
Plans and specifications for such bids are on file in the Finance Office of the City of
Watertown where the same may be examined or they may be provided by the Sanitation
Department upon your request.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or a cashier's check for five percent
(5%) of the amount bid, such check to be certified or issued by either a State or a
National Bank and payable to the City of Watertown, or in lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten
percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to
do business in the State of South Dakota, payable to the City of Watertown, as a
guaranty that such bidder will enter into a contract with said City in case such bidder be
awarded the contract.
CHECKS NOT CERTIFIED WILL DISQUALIFY THE BID.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part of any bid, or to accept a bid
other than the lowest in case it seems advisable to said City Council so to do. No bidder
may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to materials, products, and
supplies found or produced within the State of South Dakota.
Upon completion and acceptance of all materials, equipment, and work, payment in full
will be processed to the contractor. The contractor must submit an invoice by the 20th
day of the month for payment to be made on the 10th of the following month. No
payment shall be made at any other time.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR LANDFILL DOZER
GENERAL PROVISIONS
INTENT
The intent of these specifications is to describe one (1) current production model
new and unused Landfill Dozer meeting the following minimum specifications.
GENERAL
All component parts furnished shall be new, unused and the same as the
manufacturer's current production model. Equipment, accessories, component
parts and work not specifically mentioned in these specifications, but necessary
to furnish a complete unit, shall also be provided as though they were specifically
mentioned and delineated. Assemblies, subassemblies and component parts
shall be standard and interchangeable throughout the unit specified.
COMPOSITION OF THE BID
The bid price shall include all labor, component parts, equipment and services
required to fully complete and deliver the specified unit to the City of Watertown.
BID FORMS
All bidders must use the forms provided by the City of Watertown. Bidders must
submit completed bid proposal forms in a sealed envelope or packet clearly
marked on the outside: "BID FOR LANDFILL DOZER." Additional specifications
and bid proposal forms may be obtained at the Finance Department Office,
20 N Maple, Watertown, South Dakota 57201 or by phoning
(605) 882-6203 or the Watertown Regional Landfill at (605) 882-6219.
BID CLARIFICATION
Bidders may contact the Sanitation Department at (605) 882-6219 for additional
clarification of these specifications. Written requests for such clarification should
reach the Sanitation Department no later than five (5) working (M-F) days before
the date on which bids are due. Prior to submission of bids, any ambiguities in
the specifications shall be brought to the attention of the Sanitation Department.
If necessary, an addendum will be issued to give effect to such clarification.

BID PROPOSAL
In their proposal Bidders will be required to state the make, model, engine size
and other pertinent data asked for in the proposal forms with reference to the
equipment they propose to furnish. All bids must be submitted on the forms
furnished by the City. These forms may be obtained from the office of the
Finance Department or the Watertown Regional Landfill, 605-882-6219.
DELIVERY AND TRANSPORTATION
The bid price for the complete unit will include freight designated FOB
Watertown, SD. The bidder shall be required to pay all costs in transporting,
delivery and setup of the complete unit ready for use to the City of Watertown
Regional Landfill Site.
TAXATION
The City of Watertown shall be exempt from all Federal, State or Local taxation.
The City shall not be liable for additional payment to defer the cost of any tax or
other imposition that might be made by Federal, State or Local taxing authorities.
DISPOSITION OF BIDS
No bidder may withdraw a submitted bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the
date of the opening of the bids. The City Council of the City of Watertown, South
Dakota, reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in
any bid.
