Overview

Summary

The City of Pasadena is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide professional services for preparation of preliminary design plan, final design plans, specifications and cost estimate for the North Lake Avenue Pedestrian and Safety Enhancement Project, ATP Cycle 6.

Background

The North Lake Avenue Pedestrian and Safety Enhancement Project is funded by the State Active Transportation Program (ATP) Cycle 6 grant. The project focuses on improving traffic and pedestrian safety along a 0.6-mile section of North Lake Avenue between Maple Street and Mountain Street.

The goal of the project is to make the corridor safer and easier to use by improving traffic operations, pedestrian facilities, and overall connectivity.

In 2020, the City conducted extensive public outreach. Based on community feedback and with support from a third-party design consultant, a conceptual design was developed. This conceptual design, included in the attachments, defines the main scope of work funded by the ATP grant.

The City is now working with a outreach consultant team to re-engage the community and begin outreach focused on the design phase of the project. As a next step, the City is seeking a qualified design team to help prepare detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates, in coordination with the ongoing community outreach efforts.
