The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),National Ocean Service (NOS) has a requirement for long range terrestrial lidar systems, associated software, maintenance, training and licensing plans. NOAA is congressionally mandated to survey the national shoreline. The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) requires two terrestrial laser scanning systems capable of collecting survey-grade 3D data at long range (= 2 km) from limited and potentially remote terrestrial vantage points, while maintaining high accuracy and sufficient point density to support emergency response, damage assessment, and geodetic applications nationwide.
