NGL Assembly Flush Deck

This notice is being published as required by FAR 5.201(b)(1).

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to award a competitive Firm-Fixed price contract for the following in accordance with Government drawings:

Nose Gear Launch (NGL) Assembly, Flush Deck, Part Number 613474-7. The NGL Assembly, Flush Deck includes the following components:

•Part Number 615845-17, NGL Buffer Valve Manifold 3 production units

•Part Number 34000D1560380, NGL Buffer Assembly 4 production units

•Part Number 628308-1, NGL Charging Panel 3 production units

•Part Number 628304-1, NGL Tensioner Control 1 First Article Test, 1 production units

•Part Number 628304-1, NGL Tensioner Control 3 production units

•Part number 615835-1, Buffer Accumulator 4 production units

The required NGL Assembly, Flush Deck are Critical Safety Items (CSIs) and therefore it is the Navy's intent to pursue a limited competition between the following vendors whom are qualified to provide these CSIs:

--The Entwistle Company, 6 Bigelow Street, Hudson, MA

--Penn State Tool and Die Shop, 7590 Route 30, Irwin, PA 15642

--Duhadaway Tool & Die Shop Inc., 801 Dawson Drive, Newark, DE 19713-3415

--Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Corporation, Target Rock Division, 1966E Broadhollow Road,

Farmingdale, NY 11735-1713

The NAICS code associated with this requirement is 333998. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), FAR 6.302-1. The limited number of responsible sources listed above are the only companies that can meet the agency's need for the NGL Assembly, Flush Deck in support of CVN80. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
