Title: NEW HAVEN PARKS IRRIGATION SYSTEM SUPPLY & SERVICE

New Haven Parks is requesting bid pricing and proposal responses for citywide irrigation services at various athletic fields and park locations. Irrigation contractors are asked to provide pricing for full turn-key irrigation projects as well as technician service and repair including parts, controller(s), heads, materials and other supplies on an as-needed basis requested by New Haven Parks. In addition, line item costs for spring startup and winter services, design & configuration of irrigation systems, controller supply, installation and programming, irrigation testing and flagging as needed, irrigation part replacement services and repairs to irrigation zones are to be quoted as part of this bid. The work will conform and be in compliance with industry standards for complete natural turf field irrigation.
It is the contractor's responsibility to assure that all OSHA safety compliance is maintained by the contractor's employees for the duration of the contract.
The basis of award for this contract shall be based on bidder's response that includes on-call as-needed unit prices, with additional considerations such as bidder references, responsiveness, and meeting all necessary license requirements. The City of New Haven reserves the right to award or reject any bid when it is deemed it is in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to award to more than one respondent if deemed to be in the best interest of the City, for specific lines contained within the bid or field location(s).
All work shall be scheduled as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of Fields or his representative. All work shall be conducted during regular working hours of 7:00AM to 3:30PM Monday through Friday unless otherwise directed.
Payment will only be made upon completion of all aspects of project work as assigned and awarded with accompaniment of a Purchase Order contract and invoice approved by New Haven Parks authorized staff. Prices shall not include sales tax, excise taxes, or any other taxes for which the City is not liable. All responses submitted shall include all labor, materials, tools, equipment and transportation or services required to complete work specified. Please note that travel time to and from the work site will not be paid under the awarded contract.
New Haven Parks facilitates and supports numerous athletic and recreational activities at several locations throughout and has recently established a Fields Division to directly staff and maintain playing conditions. The irrigation at athletic fields is an essential resource to improve and maintain field conditions, establish healthy turf and expand recreational opportunities for active programming. Due to extensive high volume of field usage, water distribution and irrigation service and repair are important components to a comprehensive park athletic fields maintenance program.
