*A Non- mandatory pre-proposal walk through will be held at
10 AM Tuesday August 4th. Parking is available at Latham
Parking Deck and we will congregate at the entrance of
Richmond Hall (located short walk from parking)
Richmond Residence Hall 1 has been offline since May 2022
due to extensive mechanical, environmental, and life-safety
failures that prevent safe occupancy. The building's
condition includes mold growth in the base cove and
ductwork, a corroded and unreliable two-pipe HVAC system,
non-functional restroom exhaust, deteriorated plumbing, and
outdated fire-safety and electrical systems. The renewal
will address these deficiencies through mold remediation,
HVAC system replacement, and conversion to a four-pipe
system, installation of a dedicated chiller, upgrades to
ventilation units, plumbing repairs, replacement of fire
alarm and sprinkler system components, modernization of the
building automation and electrical systems, selective finish
and lighting replacement, and repairs to elevators and
mechanical spaces.
*Current project authorization is for advances planning
only. The selected firm may be retained through full design
and construction at the University's option.
