National Museum of American History (NMAH) PSRP IV Collection Move in Washington, DC
The Smithsonian Institution (SI) is seeking offers to relocate National Museum of American History (NMAH) collections from NMAH to off-site storage at Smithsonian Institution’s Suitland Collections Center (SSC).
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this action is 488991 and the small business size standard is $34M.
PROJECT INFORMATION:
The National Museum of American History (NMAH) will be undergoing a major renovation known as the Public Space Renewal Project IV (PSRP IV) at the National Museum of American History, 1300 Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20560. The PSRP IV renovation project is expected to begin 2027. Within the approximately 32,000 square foot project area, there are several collections storage rooms and exhibits, containing approximately 65,000 artifacts. The collections need to be packed and moved safely to the Suitland Collections Center, then unpacked and placed in their final storage locations. Collections span history, cultural artifacts, art, books, archival documents and more, in every medium and composition. Artifacts include, but are not limited to, oversize objects, vehicles, ceramics/glassware, quilts, paintings, armaments, photographs, and costumes.
The Period of Performance for the Base and Option 1, if exercised, is 1095 Calendar Days from the date of Notice to Proceed.
Total Estimated cost range is above $10M.

Project will be located at 1300 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20560.

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The full solicitation, request for proposals, will be released on or about 20 January 2025; however, there is no guarantee or implication of a guarantee this this project will be solicited. Responses will be due within (40) days of release. Electronic copies will be uploaded to SAM.gov site. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response.
The Smithsonian Institution will accept proposals from all qualified offerors. The Smithsonian Institution’s evaluation panel will be the sole entity to determine as to whether an offeror is capable of meeting the requirements to carry out contract performance.
