Invitation
The Municipal District of Taber, (hereafter referred to as “The M.D.” or “M.D”), is seeking an appropriate and qualified contractor to complete various asphalt repairs within the MD.
Scope of Services
The work includes but not limited to “remove & replace”, “asphalt patch”.
Item Remove & Replace will be paid per m2 and will include saw cutting, subgrade excavation (remove and disposal), subgrade preparation (or supply and install of geotextile may be used as an alternative), supply and install of 300mm depth GBC and supply and install of 100mm depth Type III (City of Lethbridge spec or equivalent) ACP (including tack coat). The MD will attempt to achieve full paver widths with patches whenever possible. Disposal of asphalt will be provided at no tipping cost to MD operated landfill.
Item Asphalt Patching / Overlay will be paid per ton and will include surface preparation (sweeping) and supply and install of 50 mm depth Type III (City of Lethbridge spec or equivalent) ACP (including tack coat).
All work required (traffic accommodation, labor, materials, etc.) to complete the above noted items will be considered incidental and no separate or additional payments will be made. One lane of traffic should remain open at all times during construction.
The quantities and work required are outlined in the attachments, the site locations noted in the attached drawing may change at any time. Quantities are estimated and will be paid as per field measurements. Contractors may be required to complete repairs in locations within the MD of Taber boundary not specified in the attached drawing. A 1-year warranty should be provided upon completion of construction which includes all materials and labour.
Unless explicitly stated by the MD, all materials and activities included in the scope of services shall be in accordance with:

Where Alberta Transportation or Department, shall mean Municipal District of Taber (MDT)
and Engineer or Consultant, shall mean the Manager of Public Works and Infrastructure (MDT).
Work can commence once project is awarded as weather allows and must be completed by August 31st, 2025.
The estimated contract period will be 4 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/05/01.
