Bids will be received by the City of Sidney electronically through Bid Express until 11 :30 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday, February 19,2025, at which time they will be electronically opened and reviewed.

Plans, Specifications, and bid forms will be available through the Bid Express website at www.bidexpress.com . All electronic bidders must register with Bid Express in order to submit a bid (please allow time for processing). Registration with Bid Express is free. Contractors and/or Subcontractors can view and download information free of charge. In order to submit an electronic bid, the bidder will need to pay a per bid fee or a monthly subscription fee for unlimited bids. We encourage bidders to familiarize themselves with the Bid Express service in advance.

The project consists of the partial demolition of existing structure (1939 building), general, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, technology work for construction of a new addition to and renovation of the existing 1975 building and related site work.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 in the Council Chambers located on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 201 W. Poplar Street, Sidney, Ohio. A walk-through of the site will be offered during the pre-bid meeting.

Any and all questions regarding the referenced project must be submitted through the Bid Express website no later than 1 :00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, January 23, 2025. Questions submitted outside of Bid Express will not be answered.

The Contractor shall be required to pay not less than the minimum wage rates established by the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of Ohio for Building Construction.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City of Sidney reserves the right to waive any irregularities, to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the bidder deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Sidney.

SECTION 061000 – ROUGH CARPENTRY
A. Add paragraph 2.5, B as follows:

Section 097000: Plywood, DOC PS 1, Exposure 1, B-B, in thickness
indicated or, if not indicated, not less than 5/8-inch nominal thickness.
SECTION 064023 – INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL WOODWORK
A. Delete Summary paragraph “1.1, A.2” referencing interior plywood panels. Backing
panels for use behind wood wall panels specified in Section 097000 are to be as
specified in Section 061000 Rough Carpentry.
B. Delete paragraph “2.3 HARDWOOD SHEET MATERIALS” and related sub-
paragraphs.

1. Configuration: Wood cant strips around the curb only if
recommended for the roof system. Match roof slope so that the top of
the curb is level.
2. Overall Height: 12 inches.
D. Bird Screening: Aluminum, 1/2-inch square mesh.
