Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and Program Executive Office Digital & Enterprise Services (PEO Digital), are conducting market research regarding a potential, future technology refresh (Tech Refresh) of the fielded, USMC-owned, multiband, and single band land mobile radio (MBR and SBR, respectively) devices currently in use in the Marine Corps Installations Pacific (MCIPAC) area of responsibility (AOR). Prior technical refreshes of similar assets have had fielding issues related to the lack of regional Joint Frequency (J/F) - 12 or host nation approval due to being a Multi Band asset for Okinawa, Iwakuni, and Fuji (Japan Region). The subscriber unit allocations for theses bases need to be a single band VHF capable asset.
