2026 Shredded Hardwood Bark Mulch Removal, Placement,

and Weed Preventative Bid

General Description

The City of Greenville will receive sealed bids for the placement of approximately

200 cubic yards of natural colored, shredded hardwood bark mulch at multiple City

owned parking lots and landscaped areas, as well as weed preventative as

specified.

Please bid per cubic yard as the amount of cubic yards of material will dictate the

final cost of application.

under the bids tab. Any and all questions regarding this bid shall be directed to

the principal contact listed above.

Due Date

Bids are due 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 25, 2025

Submission of Bids

Please submit your sealed bids using the attached bid form, as well as all other

requested information. Email or faxed bids cannot be accepted. One copy of the

bid shall be delivered to:

All responses must be clearly labeled – “2026 Mulch Bid”

Contract Time

The Greenville City Council may approve the bids at their December 2, 2025,

meeting.

The removal of the existing mulch, the additive weed preventer, and the placement

of existing mulch can begin on April 1, 2026 and must be completed by May 8,

2026, and coordinated with the Public Services Director.

Rights Reserved By The Owner

The City of Greenville reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The

competency and responsibility of bidders will be considered in awarding

contracts. The owner does not obligate himself to accept the lowest or any other

bid. The owner reserves the right to waive any informality in any or all bids. The

City of Greenville reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities of bid

items without additional compensation.

Mulch will be supplied by the city. Some hand application will be necessary due to tight

spaces. Mulch must be applied to a minimum thickness of one (1) inch after compaction.

Placement of the mulch must be behind the curb and/or retaining edge of landscaped

area. Any mulch outside of the specified areas must be removed/cleaned.

Weed preventative

Must use Snapshot or equivalent $________________

Weed preventative is to be applied in all landscaped areas prior to spreading mulch
