Sealed bids will be received by the Township of Mahwah Administrative Offices,
Municipal Building, 475 Corporate Drive, Mahwah, NJ 07430 in the County of Bergen
and State of New Jersey, Main Level, in the Honorable Judge Anthony J. Gianni, Jr.
Chambers on April 21, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. prevailing time, and then publicly opened and
read aloud for
LAWRENCE ROAD WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT

BASE BID:
• In general, Work consists of the construction of the approximately 1,310 feet of 8-
in. ductile iron water main and appurtenances on Lawrence Road, including the
transfer and reconnection of approximately 13 water service lines, pressure
testing, disinfection. and other related incidental work as shown on the Contract
Drawings and described in the Contract Specifications.
All work, with the exception of final restoration, shall be completed within seventy (70)
consecutive calendar days from the date of the written notice to proceed with the work.
All final restoration work shall be completed within one hundred fifty (150) consecutive
calendar days from the date of the written notice to proceed with the work.
Bid documents and specifications are available for no charge commencing March 30,
2026, and will be on file for public inspection at the office of the Business Administrator,
at the above address, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through
Friday, excluding legal holidays. Bid documents can be obtained by emailing your request
to jbecker@mahwahtwp.org. Include company name, company address, phone #, fax #,
contact person name and email address.
Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings
and Specifications, including the non-collusion affidavit and ownership statement
compliance form and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a certified check,
cashier's check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid and,
not to exceed $20,000.00. Such checks and Bonds shall be made payable to the Owner
and will be held as a Guarantee that in the event the Bid is accepted and a Contract
awarded to the bidder, the Contract shall be duly executed and its performance properly
secured. The successful bidder shall furnish and deliver to the Owner a performance and
payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid amount as security for
the faithful performance and payment of the Contract. Further, the successful bidder must
furnish the policies or Certificates of Insurance required by the Contract. In default
thereof, said checks and the amount represented thereby will be forfeited to the aforesaid
Owner as liquidated damages. Bids must be accompanied, in the case of corporations
not chartered in New Jersey, by proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to
do business in the State of New Jersey.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and
N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. All corporations
and partnerships must comply with Chapter 33, of the P.L. of 1977, regarding disclosure
of partners and stockholders. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing
the name and address of the bidder, addressed to the Owner and labeled for the
LAWRENCE ROAD WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT (BID # MTB –26–04).
All bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a
period of sixty (60) days.
The Township reserves the right to reject bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2, N.J.A.C.
7:22-9.10 or other applicable law, to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions
in the bids received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder, as per
N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-1, et seq.
