Sealed bids will be received by the Township of Mahwah Administrative Offices, Municipal
Building, 475 Corporate Drive, Mahwah, NJ 07430 in the County of Bergen and State of New
Jersey, Main Level, in the Honorable Judge Anthony J. Gianni, Jr. Chambers on April 8, 2026
at 11:30 a.m. prevailing time, and then publicly opened and read aloud for
FARDALE AVE CULVERT REPLACEMENT
TOWNSHIP OF MAHWAH

BASE BID:
• In general, Work consists of the construction of the approximately 35 feet of 20-foot by
7-foot precast concrete culvert and wing walls, 928-feet of milling and resurfacing along
Fardale Ave, curb replacement, approximately 150-feet of 12” water main, a new fire
hydrant, two 50-foot casing pipes under the culvert, and other related incidental work
as shown on the Contract Drawings and described in the Contract Specifications.
The work contemplated under this Contract shall be completed by within 160 calendar days
from the date of execution of the Contract.
Bid documents and specifications are available for no charge commencing March 11, 2026,
and will be on file for public inspection at the office of the Business Administrator, at the above
address, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding
legal holidays. Bid documents can be obtained by emailing your request to
jbecker@mahwahtwp.org. Include company name, company address, phone #, fax #, contact
person name and email address.
Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings and
Specifications, including the non-collusion affidavit and ownership statement compliance form
and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a certified check, cashier's check, or
Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid and, not to exceed $20,000.00.
Such checks and Bonds shall be made payable to the Owner and will be held as a Guarantee
that in the event the Bid is accepted and a Contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract shall
be duly executed and its performance properly secured. The successful bidder shall furnish
and deliver to the Owner a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of
the accepted bid amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of the Contract.
Further, the successful bidder must furnish the policies or Certificates of Insurance required by
the Contract. In default thereof, said checks and the amount represented thereby will be
forfeited to the aforesaid Owner as liquidated damages. Bids must be accompanied, in the
case of corporations not chartered in New Jersey, by proper certificate that such corporation
is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C.
17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. All corporations and
partnerships must comply with Chapter 33, of the P.L. of 1977, regarding disclosure of partners
and stockholders. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and
address of the bidder, addressed to the Owner and labeled for the FARDALE AVE CULVERT
REPLACEMENT (BID # MTB – 25 – 06).

The successful bidder will be required to comply with all provisions of prevailing wage rates as
determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Federal Department of Labor (Davis-
Bacon Act).
All bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a period of
sixty (60) days.
The Township reserves the right to reject bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2, N.J.A.C. 7:22-
9.10 or other applicable law, to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions in the bids
received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder, as per N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-1,
et seq.
