Moving Services

The SCLC requires the services of a qualified Contractor to supply Somerset County Library System of New Jersey ("Library") with moving services. The SCLC intends to award a contract for moving services to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the requirements below and in the Bid Proposal Form (p. 21).

1. A local corporation is donating a large number of tables, chairs, office systems furniture, and other equipment to the Library as they downsize and move their headquarters.

2. The Library is using this opportunity to refresh furniture at all branch locations.

3. Furniture and equipment will be used by visitors to the library, as well as by staff in workrooms and offices.

4. As of the issue date of this bid notice, we estimate moving up to 3,000 individual items of furniture and equipment, subject to change.

A Pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the "move from" location for all activity, 55 Corporate Drive S, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 for clarification of any questions on the specifications and inspection of the site. Attendance at this Pre-Bid meeting is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.

2. The meeting will give prospective bidders a sense of the scope of the move. There will not be time to see every room or piece of furniture, but attendees will have the opportunity to see a representative sample of furniture and equipment to be moved, as well as examples of the private office and office systems furniture that will require disassembly at the "move from" location and reassembly at the "move to" location.
