INTENT

It is the intent of this project to provide for a qualified contractor to furnish and install fencing at Mountain Home Cemetery and to perform all work necessary to complete the installation in a professional and workmanlike manner. The City will provide markings indicating the exact locations where the fence shall be installed. The new fencing will be placed near the retaining walls located along the cemetery roads.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Mountain Home Cemetery Fencing Project consists of furnishing and installing new black metal fencing within the cemetery. The intent of this project is to install new fencing in these areas to enhance appearance, safety, and site definition throughout the cemetery. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the work in a professional and workmanlike manner. The new fencing shall match the general design and style of the black metal fence located along the W Main st Frontage of the cemetery, with a height above grade of no less than 36 inches and no more than 42 inches. The fence material shall be aluminum, steel, wrought iron, or other metal, with a black finish, and all fence components shall be of the same material, color, manufacturer, design, and panel dimensions to ensure a uniform and consistent appearance. The contractor shall verify existing field conditions, coordinate the final layout and alignment with City staff prior to installation, and ensure the completed work meets the standards and satisfaction of the City of Kalamazoo Public Services Department. All disturbed areas shall be properly restored upon completion of the project. All work shall be substantially complete by December 31, 2025, and may begin as soon as the contractor receives the Notice to Proceed, provided that work commences within 30 days of receipt of the notice. Final completion of all work shall be achieved no later than December 31, 2025
