INVITATION FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for the MONUMENT MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FY26 project will be received by the City of Clayton, Public Works Department, until 2:00 pm local time, on April 1, 2026. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in City Hall Council Chambers, 2nd floor, 10 N. Bemiston Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105.
An optional pre-bid meeting will be held at 3:00 pm local time, on March 18, 2026, in Conference Room A, 1st Floor, 10 N. Bemiston Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105.
The Scope of Work includes cleaning, preventive maintenance, repair, and reconstruction of various subdivision monuments and other public and private structures, providing traffic control as necessary to meet MUTCD requirements, and other incidental items as indicated on the construction documents and specifications. This bid package includes bids for basic maintenance, repair of damaged and/or dilapidated monuments, and complete reconstruction of monuments damaged beyond basic repairs. The work is expected to take place in the respective fiscal years as directed by the Director of Public Works.
It is anticipated that a portion of this project will be eligible for funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Bidder shall ensure that all record keeping and documentation, including locations and methods of disposal of damaged or other waste materials, shall be performed in accordance with FEMA requirements.
It is expected that Bidders will inspect all the monuments included in the Scope of Work prior to submitting their Bids. A location map is included with the Construction Documents.
Bid packages will be available Tuesday March 10, 2026 at https://www.claytonmo.gov/vendors . Bidders should submit an email request through the webpage, and a link will be provided by City staff to download the bid documents.
A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
