Mobile Classroom

The Town of Lexington, SC is seeking a mobile classroom to educate citizens of Lexington County on Opioid abatement strategies. This classroom will be taken to local schools and community events to provide an opportunity for law enforcement professionals to connect with and educate about the dangers of opioid abuse. Creating and using this classroom is a proactive step prevent opioid addiction and overdose related death.  We will be accepting sealed bids for this.  Items that must be included:

• Gas powered vehicle 26,000 GVWR or less with attached, fully finished space adequate for a small classroom
• Ceiling mounted projector
• Ceiling mounted, pull-down screen
• Smart Television mounted in a weather tight cabinet mounted to the curbside wall
• Retractable awning with printed art (art will be provided) mounted on the curbside of the coach over television
• Wheelchair lift w/800lb capacity w/dedicated door
• Curbside door entrance to classroom with any needed steps
• Gas generator plumbed to the chassis fuel tank
• Chassis to have automatic leveling system with controls mounted in drivers’ area
• Automatic power transfer switch between shore power and generator power
• Interior and exterior lighting
• Interior and exterior power outlets
• Interior speaker system
• Exterior Speaker system
• Adequate air conditioning for the classroom area
• Interior storage cabinets
• Seating for 15 people including folding tables and chairs
• Provisions for secure table & chair storage alongside passenger wall

Bids will be received by the Owner in Conference Room C, located on the 2 ^nd floor of the Lexington Municipal Complex at 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington, SC until 2:00 pm on April 24, 2026, and then at said place be publicly opened and read aloud.  Location of Bid opening subject to change.  Sealed bids should be clearly labeled with the bid number. Sealed bids may be mailed to the Town of Lexington, Attn: Laurie Starnes, Post Office Box 397, Lexington, South Carolina 29071.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any informality.

The Bid is subject to the Town’s Local Vendor Preference requirements.
