Title: MOA Curbing Replacement
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 7/18/2025
Due Date: 8/21/2025
BFT headquartered at 1000 Columbia Park Trail in Richland, WA, is the primary provider of public transportation services in the Benton and Franklin County region. BFT’s service area spans 624 square miles and includes the cities of Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland, Benton City, and Prosser, as well as surrounding unincorporated areas. The agency plays a vital role in connecting communities, supporting regional mobility, and ensuring access to essential services throughout the Mid-Columbia region.
BFT is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide curbing removal and replacement of damaged curbs. Contractors must meet the minimum qualifications and requirements as set forth with the IFB and be capable of providing services identified in the Scope of Work herein. This project involves the removal and replacement of deteriorating curbs with properly reinforced curbs. The work will include stabilizing any affected concrete areas and ensuring long-term durability of the infrastructure. These improvements are critical to prevent future structural failures, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance safety for staff and equipment operating in the area.
The existing curbs located at the northeast corner of the MOA have experienced significant deterioration, compromising the structural integrity of the surrounding concrete flatwork. These curbs play a critical role in supporting adjacent infrastructure, including nearby swell ponds and concrete drive areas. Due to ongoing erosion and wear, portions of the concrete have become unstable, raising concerns about long-term durability and safety.
Replacing these curbs with properly reinforced structures is essential to prevent further damage and avoid the potential for more extensive and costly repairs in the future. Left unaddressed, the current conditions could result in severe structural failures, such as collapses or sinkholes, posing serious safety risks to personnel and operational equipment.
This curb repair and reinforcement project is necessary to ensure the stability and longevity of both the concrete surfaces and the swell ponds. It will also enhance safety for staff and machinery working in the area, and contribute to the overall resilience of the facility’s infrastructure.
