This announcement is amended with amendment 0002 of this solicitation. The following is changed within the solicitation:
- Quotation due date is extended to 16 May 2025.
The following questions have been received and the answers are provided below:
- Are there any drawings, sketches, or reference images available for the work platform the end user is requesting? No drawing/pictures as this is a new purchase.
- Will assembly of the platform be required at the end user’s location following delivery? No assembly on site is requested; however, the Government would like an instruction book or training on first assembly to facilitate proper usage of Platform as noted in section 3.0, bullet point 9 of the specifications.
This announcement is amended with amendment 0001 of this solicitation. The following is changed within the specifications:
- Electric motor driven lifting unit with a minimum 7000 lbs lifting capacity.”
The following questions have been received and the answers are provided below:
- “There is a statement regarding "Free-standing Base allowing the work platform to reach 35 feet without anchors." Is this to mean that the length shall reach 35 feet with no obstructions/supports underneath?” The work platform should reach 35 feet without wall supports or wall anchors. A base can be separate or integrated into the work platform but cannot be anchored to the floor.
- Platform to be 50' in length: are upright supports permissible periodically underneath deck surface? The platform will need to change elevations while workers are stationed on the platform. No more than 2-3 people are expected to be on the platform at one time.
- Platform to be 5' in width/depth? Work platform should be wide enough to allow one worker to walk from one side to the other.
- What environment is this in? This will be operated in an open top enclosed concrete bay on a dam. In storage, the top of the bay will be closed however in use it will be exposed to the elements including water and high humidity.
- Is aluminum acceptable? As long as it can support the weight of itself, a nominal worker load, and a factor of safety at the extent of the work platform’s required dimensions.
- Is the intent for this to be a mobile platform or secured to floor? The intent is for this to be a semi-mobile platform without anchors. The requirement for the most extreme operation is rising 35’ from the ground with 50’ work platform. Using outriggers is a viable solution.
- Is there a minimum height? 35’ is the minimum height needed to reach the top of the spillway gate to perform maintenance of the surface.
- What is the desired timeline to take delivery on the product? The desired timeline is by the end of the year but that is a lower concern.
- Is the entire 50' of platform to be raised/lowered simultaneously? Yes, One operation requires lifting and installing 50’ seals horizontally along the spillway gate at different heights.
