The State of Minnesota, Eco Water Resource Division at the Dept. of Natural Resource (DNR) intends to purchase one LI-COR LI-7810 portable trace gas analyzer for field use with high accuracy capabilities for CH4 (methane) and CO2 (Carbon dioxide).

The proposed of this purchase allows Eco Water Resource Division to measure carbon/climate benefits of peatland restoration per statute as specified by the MN Legislature in 2023.The LI-COR LI-7810 is the equipment that only equipment that meets specification. LI-COR LI-7810 with its precision of 0.25 ppb (parts per billion) with 5-second averaging. We need to gain an understanding of the impact on carbon storage from peatland restoration, which requires reliable, accurate, repeatable field measures at peatland restoration sites pre-and post-restoration.

In addition, it is in use by a partner organization working on similar projects (peatland conservation and restoration), so it has been field tested and results will be comparable if collected following the same protocols and using the same equipment.

If anyone has any concerns regarding this single source opportunity you must contact Jeeneng Vang via e-mail to Jeeneng.vang@state.mn.us before March 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM CT (Central Time). Note: Include the reference number and title of the posting in the subject line.
