The Minnesota Department of Administration, on behalf of the Office of Equity, Opportunity, and Accessibility in the Office of the Governor and Lt. Governor (Agency), intend to enter into an agreement with the Ordway Center for Performing Arts to be the venue for the 2026 Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Event.
The Agency requires a venue in St. Paul that can seat and provide sound and acoustics for 900
individuals, is ADA compliant, has accessible parking, is near public transit, and allows food and beverages on premises. The Agency also requires a venue that provides staff support and technical assistance, access to foyer space with audio and visuals for overflow, has a green room, has built-in livestreaming capabilities, and has a screen available for video presentations and closed captioning.
The Agency determined this is a single source purchase because the Ordway Center for Performing Arts is the only commercially reasonably available venue that meets the Agency’s business needs.
