| Project Title: | Mitchell -Allied Health Science Building |
| Description: | New construction of an approximately 16,000 SF building. The Mitchell-Hall Allied Health Science Building will allow the nursing program to expand to meet the needs of a full program of students of approximately 60 students who can participate in an LPN and RN program. The Mitchell-Hall Allied Health Science building will allow for an observation room with a two-way window, increase space for simulation beds, and much needed storage. The Mitchell-Hall Allied Health Science Building will provide Nursing Aid with additional classroom space, a water source, laundry room, Privacy curtains, and additional beds. To address the nursing storage, the current nursing RN program has added an LPN program as a request from healthcare in our service area. EMS and EMT will also be in the Mitchell-Hall Health Science building allowing for shelter for the ambulance, storage closet, and a shared simulation lab. Other allied health programs such as medical assisting and pharmacy technician will also be housed in Mitchell-Hall building. A new Health Science Building will provide much- needed instructional space and quality labs that mirror the labs found in hospitals and other healthcare facilities where citizens in the college’s service area can be trained to enter the workforce. The General Assembly has awarded the college 15,000.000 million additional dollars to build the Health Science Building. |
