Military Hospital Laundry Services

The Medical Readiness Contracting Office – Pacific, Joint Base Lewis McChord Health Contracting Branch is issuing this sources sought notice for informational purposes only. The notice is a means of conducting market research to identify industry’s capabilities in providing Laundry Services for Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) located on Joint Base Lewis McChord (JLBM), in Tacoma WA. For additional information regarding the technical specifications, please refer to the attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement. This sources sought notice is not a solicitation for quotations, proposals nor invitation for bids. Any information submitted by respondents to this notice is strictly voluntary and will not be compensated. Telephonic inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged. The Government will not evaluate the information received nor provide comments or feedback.

Your response to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their capabilities and qualifications statement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation nor award a contract under this announcement. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Government-Wide Point of Entry (GPE). It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor the GPE for additional information pertaining to this requirement.

Project Background

This action is for the procurement of Laundry Services. The Contractor shall furnish all personnel, labor, transportation, equipment, tools, supplies, training, management, administration, and services except as may be expressly set forth as Government furnished, and otherwise do all things necessary as required and necessary for the performance of Hospital Accredited Laundry for MAMC - JBLM, Washington. It is expressly agreed and understood that this requirement is for non-personal services.

Required Capabilities

Commercial Standards/Advisory Recommendations. Commercial Standards and Advisory Recommendations. The following commercial standards and advisory recommendations are applicable to this effort. All work under this contract shall be accomplished in accordance with (IAW) current:

-The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

-Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Guidelines for Environmental Infection Control in Health- Care Facilities

-Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards

-Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC)

-Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) guidelines

-Association of Laundry Management (ALM)

-American National Standards Institutes (ANSI): ST65- 2013.

The laundry facility shall be HEALTHCARE LAUNDRY ACCREDITATION COUNCIL certified within 30 days prior to contract award and shall maintain certification throughout the term of the contract.

The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 812332 - Industrial Launderers with a small business size standard of $47M USD. The product service code is S209 housekeeping- laundry/drycleaning. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond.
