The State University of New York at Buffalo, hereafter referred to as “the University,” is submitting an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for providing Underground Utility Locating Services at the North, South and Downtown Campuses, as well as any University-related properties. The successful Bidder/Contractor shall enter into a written Contract for locating and mark-out services at underground utility locations for construction information in compliance with the New York State Public Service Commission requirements through NYS Code Rule 753 and UDig NY. This contract includes all labor, equipment, transportation, and permit fees associated with providing this service for the University. The successful Bidder/Contractor shall be responsible for the service to locate the utility location and insert the utility flags at specified sites in a timely fashion at the University at Buffalo North, South and Downtown Campuses and at University-related facilities, present and future, as designated by University Facilities. This will be in accordance with the requirements, terms, and conditions included herein and in compliance with the UDig NY requirements. It is the University’s intention to award one Contract to establish a primary source for the Underground Utility Locating Services.

The Bidder/Contractor shall provide a turn-key Underground Utility Locating Service for these areas: potable water; sewer and drain lines; chilled water; fire mains; steam lines and tunnels; gas; oil; and communications (fiber and copper). The Bidder/Contractor shall have the ability to video tape the ticket work final product as required.
