The date of availability for this project is January 1, 2026.

The completion date for this project is December 31, 2026.

The North Caolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for string trimming as needed in

Alamance County. All quantities are estimates. The Contractor shall furnish labor, equipment, and

materials.

Contractor’s bidding this NCDOT contract will not be required to sign up for the Interested Parties

List to submit a bid.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil

Rights of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the Department of Transportation (49 C.F.R., Part 21),

issued pursuant to such act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that the contract

entered into pursuant to this notice will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination

on the grounds of sex, race, color, or national origin.

SBE PROGRAM INFORMATION

This is an SBE contract and to qualify for the NCDOT SBE Program a firm must have an annual gross

income of $1,500,000 or less, exclusive of materials. Only contractors currently certified as a SBE

Contractor by the Contractual Services Unit of NCDOT and listed in the Directory of Transportation

Firms at bid opening will be eligible to bid on this project.

Prospective bidders who qualify for the SBE Program and are not currently certified should submit a

completed application packet prior to bid submittal to allow for review time. The application packet and

additional information on the program may be obtained online at:

Per G. S. 136-28.10, a North Carolina General Contractor’s license may be waived for SBE contracts.

For this project, the North Carolina General Contractor’s license will be waived.

Per G. S. 136-28.10, contract payment and performance bonds may be waived. For this project, the

contract payment and performance bonds will be waived.

BID OPENING

Bids must be received at the NCDOT Division 7 Office, 1584 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro, NC 27405,

by 2:00 on December 4, 2025. Bids will be opened and publicly read at the NCDOT Division 7 Office, at

the above date, shortly after the time that the bid submissions are due. The As-Read Bid Summaries will be

posted within 48 hours of the bid opening. Results will not be provided by any other means than posting to

the website.

The public letting will be held via conference call. You may join the conference call just prior to 2:00 pm

on 12/4/25. Please dial (919) 250-7881, announce name and company name when prompted.

THIS PROJECT WILL NOT BE BID ELECTRONICALLY.

The printing of all bid-related documents, including the proposal, plans and any supplemental project

information shall be the responsibility of the bidder. Division 7 no longer provides hard copies of bid
