Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditional Lien Services

The objective of MSF is to provide optimal and accurate assessment and analysis of conditional liens asserted by The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 1395y(b)(2); respond to conditional lien demands on behalf of MSF; appeal CMS conditional lien determinations through the agreed- upon levels of appeal; and facilitate recovery of monies improperly withheld or collected by the Commercial Recovery Center (CRC) or the United States Department of Treasury. To assist MSF in effectively resolving conditional liens, the Contractor will provide conditional lien services for individual MSF claims upon the request of MSF for the compensation stated herein. Services will commence upon the referral of the claim to the Contractor by MSF and may be terminated at any time at the request of MSF.
