This market research notice is being conducted by Network Contracting Office (NCO) 17 VHA Regional Procurement Office-West (RPOW) 124 E. 5441 Babcock Road STE 302, San Antonio, Texas 78240 for the procurement of the Medical Mattresses and Controls Units.

Background and Requirement: Contractor shall provide full service for West Texas VA Health Care System for the Medical Mattresses and Controls Units. The required services include the medical mattresses and control units shall be brand name or equal to the Pressure Guard Custom Care Convertible and must have the minimum characteristics as described.

This equipment for proposed are the medical mattresses and Controls Units. This equipment must have a total of twenty-eight (28) medical mattresses, twelve (12) medical mattresses, forty (40) control units (pumps).
SPECIFIC INSTRUMENT REQUIRED: West Texas VA Health Care System needs to function with the following:

twenty-eight (28) medical mattresses at 84 L x 36 W x 7 H
twelve (12) medical mattresses at 84 L x 42 W x 7 H
forty (40) control units (pumps)
installation/set up of each medical mattress and control unit (pump)
training
debris removal (any boxes or plastic associated with the new mattresses and control units).
Weight limit: supports up to 500 lbs. (non-powered & alternating modes).
Supports up to 350 lbs. (lateral rotation mode).
Mattress weight: approximately 24 lbs.
Warranty: Mattress, 5 years, and Control Units (Pumps), 2 years.
Non-powered (air) reactive pressure redistribution.
Powered Pressure Redistribution.
Flexible treatment modalities, including alternating pressure and lateral rotation.
Easy to Use control unit with quick connect-to-mattress port.
Brand name or equal

The intent of this notice is to establish sources to define the procurement strategy (e.g. set-aside, sole source, unrestricted) for a solicitation that VA intends to post soon. Interested contractors are requested to respond in accordance with the following:

a. where is the item manufactured, the VA is interested in procuring items manufactured in the United States.

If you have an existing GSA or VA, Federal Supply Schedule contract, include the contract details in your response.

Please note that VA is particularly interested in determining the availability of Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business/Veteran Owned Small Business or other Small Business manufacturers or authorized distributors that can provide this item.

Vendors are requested to submit estimated market research pricing with their responses. The estimated pricing will be considered when determining the procurement strategy for the future solicitation. (e.g. if CO determines that capable small businesses cannot provide fair and reasonable pricing, then the solicitation will not be set-aside).
