Medical Examination Services
I. STATEMENT OF WORK
A. SCOPE
It is the intent of these specifications, terms, and conditions to describe medical
examination services requested by the District.
East Bay Municipal Utility District (District) intends to award a three - year contract (with
four options to renew for one-year terms) to the Proposer(s) who best meets the
District’s requirements.
The East Bay Municipal Utility District (the District, EBMUD) supplies water and provides
wastewater treatment for parts of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The District’s
water system serves approximately 1.4 million customers. The wastewater system
serves approximately 740,000 customers.
EBMUD is a publicly owned utility formed under the Municipal Utility District Act passed
by the California Legislature in 1921. Currently, about 2,100 employees work for the
District.
EBMUD is looking to contract with one or more service providers to perform selected
medical examination services for District employees. The scope of this request does not
include examinations related to the District’s Workers’ Compensation program. The
facilities providing the exams and services must be accessible to District employees who
are located in the following areas:
1) Western areas of Contra Costa County and Alameda County, extending from
Crockett in the north, southward to San Lorenzo (including Oakland and
Berkeley), eastward from San Francisco Bay to Walnut Creek, and south through
the San Ramon Valley.
2) Stockton, Brentwood, and Lodi CA area
3) Valley Springs, CA area (near Pardee and Camanche Reservoirs)
Service providers responding to this Request for Proposal (RFP) may propose to offer
services covering some or all of the geographic areas specified above.
B. PROPOSER QUALIFICATIONS
Proposers responding to this RFP may propose to offer services covering as few as one
component or as many as all of components listed in the RFP. The District intends to
select several providers to provide the best coverage of all services and employees as
possible. Additionally, the District makes no guarantee that all services will be
