Mechanical Ventilation Improvements: Bookstore, Greenhouse & Bradley Hall Buildings

Nassau Community College (“College” or “NCC) is requesting bids from qualified Contractors for Mechanical Ventilation Improvements at the Bookstore, Greenhouse and Bradley Hall Buildings.

The project entails the installation of a new mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system.

The work will comprise of the removal of existing mechanical equipment, and the installation of new systems as shown on the design documents. Work shall include all Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural services.

BID SUBMISSION:

Sealed Bids shall be received in the Office of Procurement at Nassau Community College, One Education Drive, Garden City, New York, Tower Building, Fourth Floor by 2:00 pm , on August 21, 2025 , at which time the Bids, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud, in the CCB Multipurpose Room.

Bids must be signed in ink and received at the above address on or before the bid opening date and time. Bid envelope must reference the Name and Address of Bidder, Bid Number, Title, and Bid Opening Date and Time. Bids received after the bid submission due date and time shall be rejected without exception. The College reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Security for Bid and List of Subcontractors as set forth herein must be presented with the Bid . FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED SECURITY WILL RENDER THE BIDDER NON-RESPONSIVE.

All bidders will be held to have accepted all terms and conditions of the bid and Contract Documents, to have examined the site and conditions that may affect the work and to have fully informed themselves of all requirements they will be held responsible to perform. No claim for relief of mistakes in the bid will be entertained after bid response.

PREBID MEETING:

The pre-bid meeting/walk-through for prospective bidders will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM . Bidders shall meet in the CCB Building Multipurpose Room. The walk-through shall then proceed to view various locations of planned work and staging areas. All prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend this pre-bid meeting.

This Contract will be subject to Nassau County Local Law No. 9-2002, which requires that firms entering into contracts must participate in registered and approved apprenticeship training programs. At the time of bid submission, the Contractor and its proposed Subcontractors shall submit as part of its bid an affidavit of participation in approved apprenticeship training programs that are appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under the Agreement. The apprenticeship training programs shall be registered with, and approved by, the New York State Commissioner of Labor in accordance with Article 23 of the New York State Labor Law. Note that if the Contractor does not comply with these requirements, the College may declare the Contractor's bid proposal non-responsive and award the Contract to the next lowest responsible Bidder.
