Summary
INTRODUCTION: Chesapeake Public Schools (hereafter known as the District) seeks proposals from qualified firms that have demonstrated competence and possesses the ability and experience necessary to provide math textbooks and other related ancillary materials and resources for our schools to support the District’s Mathematics Department.
Through this Request for Proposal (RFP), the District is seeking to establish a seven (7) year term contract through competitive negotiations with one (1) or more qualified vendors. Chesapeake Public Schools reserves the right to negotiate services and prices with the successful textbook suppliers. The Code of Virginia, Section 22.1-238, defines “textbooks” as “print or electronic media for student use that serve as the primary curriculum basis for grade-level subject or course”. Ancillary materials include, but are not limited to, print or electronic documents or applications that assist a teacher with student assessment, lesson planning, student enrichment, remediation, or professional development. Offerors should not feel bound by this list and are encouraged to present any and all resources that are available for student and teacher support from the proposed resources.
Background
Chesapeake Public Schools, including the School Board (hereafter known as the District) seeks proposals from qualified, licensed, and insured companies to provide a Math Textbooks.
Through this Request for Proposal (RFP), the District is seeking to identify one or more vendors who can most fully meet the needs of the District as specified in this document and any associated attachments.
Based on enrollment, the District is the seventh largest school district in Virginia. With nearly 40,000 students and 6,000 employees in 56 schools and centers, the District is committed to providing excellence in education for the children of Chesapeake.
