Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of a Massbox mass spectrometer from Exum Instruments INC as a sole source because of the uniqueness (design, capability, nature) of the goods and/or services. The mass spectrometer must meet the following specifications:
• Broad coverage of elemental spectrum in the periodic table from Lithium to Uranium.
• Detection limits down to 100s of ppb level.
• High-throughput analysis of up to 16 samples (size dependent) in the same session.
• Elemental Mapping up to an 83-mm-by-83-mm area with 5–200-micron resolution.
• Depth profiling of less than 100 nm per laser shot.
• Compact Instrument size • High vacuum environment after samples are loaded.
• Options for air-free sample transfer.
• 20,000Th Mass range.
