Mass Ave Partial Construction Phase 1A Contract

The City of Cambridge would like to invite you to submit a bid for Mass Ave Partial Construction Phase 1A Contract . Bids are to be submitted through the Procurement Portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cambridgema , no later than 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024 .

The Project area is mostly limited to Mass Ave between Waterhouse Street and Forest Street. There may be additional work on Mass Ave between Garden Street and Waterhouse Street as well as between Forest Street and Dudley Street.

The major components of work to be performed under this project include the following:

1. Removal of roadway median island including saw cutting existing asphalt pavement, removing and resetting island end curbing, removing concrete median fill, removing and resetting median signage, filling and final paving of median removal area, pavement striping, and flex post installation.
   
   
2. Utility work including water main temporary bypass and replacement, water service replacements, hydrant replacements, sewer main cured in place pipelining installation of new sewer manholes, stormwater catch basin rehabilitation and upgrades.
   
   
3. Sidewalk spot replacement for typical concrete sidewalk sections.
   
   
4. Removal of MBTA Overhead Catenary System (OCS) poles which are separated into (3) groups, each of which require separate notice of authorization to proceed from the City of Cambridge’s Department of Public Works.
