Solicitation Summary
The Maryland Department of Health (MDH or the Department), Behavioral Health Administration, (BHA), is issuing this Request for Application (RFA) to issue up to one award, not to exceed $49,000 FY26 (total award including option years $196,000). This funding opportunity supports behavioral health providers serving Service Members Veterans, and Families (SMVF) by offering specialized training to enhance core competencies in the behavioral health field. Through workshops, and an annual conference, participants gain the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the unique challenges faced by SMVF clients and apply evidence-based best practices effectively. The training emphasizes cultural competency, resilience-building strategies, and evidence-based practices, incorporating feedback from participants to ensure relevance and fiscal responsibility. Targeted audiences include peer specialists, social workers, counselors, psychologists, students in behavioral health programs, military and veteran service organizations, and military personnel. These initiatives aim to equip professionals with the tools needed to deliver informed, compassionate care tailored to the needs of the SMVF community
