Description:

The City of Methuen through its School Department is requesting bids from qualified vendors for the replacement of boilers, controls and other equipment and upgrades for the Boilers at the Marsh Grammar School, 309 Pelham St., Methuen, MA 01844. Specifications and IFB forms may be obtained on or after Wednesday, January 21, 2026, via download on the City’s website www.methuen.gov/ purchasing.  All potential bidders must be registered as a plan holder through this link.

The bids must be made out in duplicate, either typed or printed in ink. The bids must be filled out and signed as directed therein, sealed in an envelope plainly marked “MPS- MARSH BOILER REPLACEMENT” addressed to the Office of the City Clerk, Searles Building, 41 Pleasant Street, Room 112, Methuen, MA  01844, and endorsed with the name and address of the bidder. Sealed bids must be received by the City Clerk no later than Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

Bids filled out and left with the deposit as above directed, and no other, will be opened at Methuen City Hall on the 3 rd floor (Great Hall), 41 Pleasant Street, Methuen, MA 01844 on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 @ 11:00AM.  The City of Methuen reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding if it is deemed to be in the best interest for the City to do so.

No Bid may be withdrawn within 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of bids. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149.

Special Requirements:
CORI checks are required for all subcontractors and/or laborers who will be working at the school during school hours (7 am-4 pm). Job will be done as soon as school lets out tentative date of June 24, 2026 and needs to be completed by the middle of August.

All questions regarding this IFB and the awarding process shall be directed by e-mail no later than Monday, February 2, 2026 by 12:00 Noon to Purchasing@methuen.gov.
