Project Description: Project consists of the replacement of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment in the existing two-story Woodacre Fire Station Headquarters Building. Scope of work includes but is not limited to: 1) Demolition of the existing equipment; 2) Installation of two new high efficiency furnaces and two new outdoor high efficiency condensing units, including expansion of the concrete condensing unit pad; 3) Installation of two new ductless split fan coil units and two new heat pumps; 4) Installation of two new room exhaust fans; 5) Select replacement of/or modifications to existing metal ductwork; and 6) Installation of new economizer ventilation controls and new wired, 7-day programmable thermostats; and miscellaneous associated work.

The Marin County Department of Public Works has transitioned its bidding process to

Building. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to: 1) Demolition of the existing
equipment and select ductwork; 2) Installation of two (2) new high-efficiency furnaces and
two (2) new outdoor high-efficiency condensing units, including expansion of the concrete
condensing unit pad; 3) Installation of two (2) new ductless split fan coil units and two (2)
new heat pumps; 4) Installation of two (2) new room exhaust fans; 5) Select replacement
of/or modifications to existing metal ductwork; and 6) Installation of new economizer
ventilation controls and new wired, 7-day programmable thermostats.
Pre-bid Conference: There is a MANDATORY pre-bid conference scheduled for this
project on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. The location is Woodacre Fire
Station, 33 Castle Rock Avenue, Woodacre. Contact Mary Hobson for more information,

The Engineer’s estimate for this project is $217,500. Bids are required for the entire work
described herein.
The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A, B, or C-20 at the time of bid submittal.
A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin
shall accompany the Proposal. The provisions of California Public Contract Code 22300,
regarding the substitution of securities for monies withheld to ensure performance shall
apply to this contract. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code
22037.
Pursuant to Section 1773 of the California Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates
for Marin County where the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of
the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General
Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the Department of Public
Works. Prevailing Wage rates are also available at the State of California Division of
Labor Statistics and Research website:
