Project Description:
Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) requires demolition and full replacement of the existing Main Gate Entrance (Building 680), originally constructed in 1960 and now beyond its useful service life. The new Entrance Portal will modernize site access, enhance security posture, improve operational efficiency, and support current and future Laboratory missions. The upgraded entrance will also complement the adjacent Science and User Support Center (SUSC), which serves as a publicly accessible facility.
The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials (except as noted below), equipment, and services necessary to demolish the existing entrance structures and construct the new Entrance Portal. Work includes but not limited to demolition, site preparation, foundations, structural construction, architectural construction, roadway modifications, utility installation and tie-ins, security infrastructure integration, sidewalks, paving, lighting, signage, striping, testing, casework, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, landscaping, and commissioning.
Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE): Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) has separately procured two (2) security booths as long-lead items. The Contractor shall coordinate delivery, relocate, install, anchor, and connect the Government-furnished booths. The Contractor shall not procure the security booths under this contract.
Work shall be phased to maintain continuous site security and controlled access to BNL during construction.
