Description

This is a source’s sought notice as a means of conducting market research. The USDA APHIS is seeking all interested sources capable of providing a Magnetic Induction Cycler (MIC). The USDA APHIS is considering the use of a purchase order contract. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The size standard for this NAICS code is 1000 employees for determination of small business status. Product Service Code is 6640. The specifications for the product are as follows.

Purpose:



Purchase of Magnetic Induction Cycler (MIC) for qualitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology – also known as real time PCR (rtPCR) - as new equipment for National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) Validation Services (PVSS), Proficiency team to be able to service the National Animal Health Laboratory Network.



The Proficiency team at NBAF (NVSL) will use the MIC to run the quality control experiments crucial to proficiency panel and assay control preparation. These proficiency panels are provided, internally, externally to state diagnostic laboratories and internationally. The preventative maintenance, repairs, and technical support are necessary to ensure the instruments are properly working and well maintained.

There is no solicitation currently. This is only a source’s sought notice for market research purposes; responses will be used to determine the procurement method for this requirement.
